The non-existent national health system was one of the issues mostly discussed during the presentations given by the three main presidential hopefuls for the upcoming presidential elections (Feb 2013) in the library building of the Medical School at the University of  Nicosia.

The talks were held for three consecutive weeks in November 2012 and each candidate had up to 30 minutes to present his vision for the health sector, after which the public had a chance to ask questions.

The first talk was held on November 15 by Nicos Anastasiades, the second on November 22 with Giorgos Lillikas, and the third on November 29 by Stavros Malas.
The talks were well attended by doctors, academics and the general public.
