Professor Andrew Nicolaides MS, FRCS, FRCSE, PhD(Hon), who was appointed last June as Honorary Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Medical School, delivered yesterday a lecture to the students, faculty and staff  on Screening for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Risk and Prevention of Heart Attacks and Strokes.  At the end of his lecture, Professor Nicolaides was presented with a plaque for his pioneering work on the prevention, diagnosis and screening of venous thromboembolism and stroke. The event was followed by a reception where students had the opportunity to meet with Professor Nicolaides.
