Overall satisfaction for St George’s has risen for the third successive year, to 86%, with especially strong endorsement of BSc Diagnostic Radiography (100%), BSc Therapeutic Radiography (95%), Foundation Degree Healthcare Practice (92%) and graduate entry Medicine (91%).

Across all courses, satisfaction with Teaching was 90%, up 3% on last year and also 3% above the Higher Education sector average for 2015.

Medical students reported an 87% overall satisfaction rate and the ranking compared to other medical courses increased in 5 of the 7 aspects of teaching surveyed, and was maintained in the other 2.

Professor Nigel Brown, Acting Principal of St George’s, University of London, said: “I am delighted that our students have benefited from the hard work our staff have done to enhance the quality of their education, and that students are showing their appreciation.

“It is particularly satisfying that for our largest courses, medicine and biomedicine, we out-performed other institutions and increased our rankings.”

“There are some very good results in all subject areas but we can improve yet further and we have clear plans in which we will continue to work closely with our students.

The UK National Student Survey (NSS) gathers opinions from students on the quality of their courses and other aspects of their academic studies. In the 2015 survey St George’s matched the benchmark set by the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE), which is set to reflect the sector average satisfaction levels, adjusted to reflect the mix of students at our institution.
