The University of Nicosia announces that the MCAT-2016 Preparation Course for the Medical College Admissions Test will run from Wednesday, June 1st to Friday, July 8th 2016. Ideal candidates are university graduates in a science-related subject having a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent). Applications will also be accepted from students currently undertaking undergraduate studies. It is highly recommended that candidates will have successfully completed the following university-level courses:
General Biology (2 semesters)
General Chemistry (2 semesters)
Organic Chemistry (1 or 2 semesters)
General Physics (1 or 2 semesters)
Biochemistry (1 or 2 semesters)
Introductory Psychology (1 or 2 semesters)
Introductory Sociology (1 semester)
Admission to the course will be offered on a case-by-case basis after review by the Admissions Committee of the candidate’s academic record and other supporting information. The course participation fees will be €2000 per student (not including travelling, accommodation, food, and pocket money). The fees for the course include a 4-month personal subscription to the Gold Standard® data base of electronic textbooks as well as seven full MCAT practice tests with solutions and full explanations. Candidates with accepted applications who pre-pay (by April 30th, 2016) a non-refundable deposit of €500 will have full access to the Gold Standard® electronic materials from May 1st, to August 31st, 2016, regardless of whether they participate in the preparation course or not. The MCAT-2016 Preparation Course will be fully computer-based for greater comfort and familiarity with the actual examination. Candidates are advised to have access to laptop computers for off-hours access to the electronic materials. Accommodation in a Hotel Premium Single Room per day on bed and breakfast basis: €40.00 (one person) and in a Premium Twin Room per day on bed and breakfast basis: €60.00 (two persons).
