On 1 November 2018, the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department in collaboration with the Cyprus OBGYN Society, the Cyprus Perinatal Society and the Cyprus Nurses and Midwives Association organised the Clinical Seminar on Postpartum Haemorrhage at Makarios Hospital in Nicosia. It was attended by 45 healthcare professionals and medical students. Some of the medical students had the opportunity to present a retrospective analysis of postpartum haemorrhage in a tertiary centre.
On 2 and 3 November, the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) and Basic Life Support in Obstetrics (BLSO) courses were organised in the Clinical Skills laboratories of the Medical School. Twenty-six midwives, eight doctors and 11 medical students participated.
Furthermore, on 3 November, and in parallel to the ALSO and BLSO courses, the Obstetric Emergencies Course was organised and was attended by 17 medical students.
Finally, on 19 January 2019, the Clinical Seminar on Antepartum and Intrapartum Foetal Surveillance and Management took place at the UNESCO amphitheatre of the University of Nicosia in which more than 50 professionals and medical students participated.
