by Andreas Demetroudiou, Student Services Manager

On 31 October, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman H.E. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Salem Al-Shanfari along with Counsellor Mr Mohamed Bait Bakur, and First Secretary Mrs Mayya Al Ismaili visited the Medical School.  They met with Omani medical students supported by a scholarship from the Omani government and they had the opportunity to discuss with them their studies and their stay in Cyprus.

After a brief introduction concerning Cyprus and the hospitality of Cypriots, the Ambassador emphasised to the students the excellence of the University of Nicosia and its Medical School.  He stressed to the students that they should feel free to contact the Embassy about any problems they may face. The Ambassador was very pleased to hear that the students so far have no unsolved issues related to their studies or their stay in Cyprus, and that the Medical School is very supportive in resolving any issues they may face.

The visit was followed by a dinner with Medical School staff members at a nearby restaurant.
