The University of Nicosia Medical School is participating in the project ‘Curriculum Development using VR technology to enhance empathetic communication skills in future health care professionals’ (EmpathyInHealth) which is funded by the Erasmus+ programme (KA203 Strategic Partnerships for higher education).

The main aim of EmpathyInHealth is to develop a curriculum for empathetic skills development in healthcare practitioners and home carers based on up to date evidence and cutting-edge technology tools.

The partners are currently working towards the development of a Qualification Framework targeting higher education students (EQF Level 7) and VET (EQF Level 5). The content of the Qualification Framework will be developed following the qualitative analysis of the focus groups which was carried out in each country. The aim of the focus groups was to investigate and describe the patient and health care professional perceptions and needs with regards to empathy.

The partners of the EmpathyInHealth had an online meeting on 07/09/2020.
