Last July the Medical School welcomed its new Chief Operating Officer, Mr Demetris Melanthiou.

Mr Melanthiou brings to the Medical School his extensive management experience in dealing with international brands, in the areas of banking, research, and the industry.

He has held key leadership positions focusing on marketing and customer experience management. Some of his key achievements for the brands and organisations he has worked for include leading positions in terms of market share, brand equity, customer satisfaction and recommendation scores.

Furthermore, his interest and work in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, has led to global acknowledgement and recognition, with an Instagram campaign ‘Don’t shoot and drive’ (highlighting the dangers of taking selfies while driving) going viral, as well as featuring on NBC NEWS in 2013.

Mr Melanthiou holds an MSc in Marketing from the University of Manchester and a BSc in Business Studies from the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Being a marketing professional with many years of experience in the field, Mr Melanthiou is recognised as a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), and holds the title of Chartered Marketer.
