Challenges in Uveitis Associated with Behçet’s disease

Behçet’s disease (BD) is a systemic vasculitis disease of unknown origin occurring in young people, which can be venous, arterial or both, classically occlusive.

The aim of this presentation is to provide current data on how innovations in clinical evaluation, investigations and treatments can improve the prognosis of uveitis associated with BD.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr Loukiana Tsierkezou is an ophthalmologist who specialises in medical retina and uveitis.  She received her medical degree from the University of Ioannina in Greece and completed her ophthalmology training at the General Hospital of Athens.

Dr Tsierkezou gained further experience by completing several trainings in UK: a Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellowship at Birmingham Midland Eye Centre, a Uveitis fellowship in Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, a Research Fellowship in Medical Retina at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London and a Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
