Speaker: Prof James Mooney, MD | Chief of Staff, Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield, Massachusetts

About the Speaker:

PROF JAMES F. MOONEY is the Chief of Staff at Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA. He received an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Stanford University and earned a medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Prof Mooney completed both a general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Bowman Gray School of Medicine. His fellowship training in paediatric orthopaedic surgery took place with the Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery Foundation at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Areas of special interest to Prof Mooney include paediatric spinal deformity, paediatric trauma and sequelae and orthopaedic aspects of cerebral palsy. Prof Mooney is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Scoliosis Research Society, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
