Panagiotis Skandalakis

Profile

Panagiotis Skandalakis is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Nicosia Medical School.

Prof Skandalakis graduated with an MD and a PhD in Surgery from the University of Athens and obtained an MSc from the Greek Board of Surgery.

He served as a faculty member in several medical institutions around the world including Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, the Academic Medical Center at the University of Amsterdam, and the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens, Greece.

Prof Skandalakis’ research focuses in the area of Surgical Anatomy.  He has published several books and articles and he is the co-author of the world-famous ‘Surgical Anatomy and Technique – A Pocket Manual,’ used by practicing surgeons and surgical residents around the world.

Professor Skandalakis has also held executive posts including Elected Vice-Chairman of N.A.T.O, Deputy Minister of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the National Health Council and was for 20 years an elected member of the Greek Parliament.
