Panayiotis Hadjicostas is a Clinical Professor at the University of Nicosia Medical School.

Prof Hadjicostas holds a MD degree from Semmelweis University, PhD degree from the University of Athens, Dr. Med degree from Heidelberg University, Germany, and certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) in Orthopaedics from Athens University.

After completion of his residency in the 1st Orthopaedic Clinic of Athens University, he followed a clinical fellowship in Knee and Foot surgery and sport traumatology in Atos Clinic, Heidelberg Germany (International Society of Artrhoscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine) -ISAKOS approved teaching center. He then continued with a Hip and Knee reconstruction clinical fellowship in the Schwarwald-Baar Clinic, Villingen-Schwenningen teaching hospital of the University of Freiburg-Germany.

During his clinical fellowships in Germany (2003-2007) he conducted basic and clinical studies on anterior cruciate ligament, semitendinosus, gracilis, patellar and quadriceps tendons at the University of Heidelberg.

His research covers the areas of sports medicine, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, tendon grafts, trauma, joint reconstruction and computer navigation knee and hip surgery.
