Zoe Giannousi is an Assistant Professor in Clinical communication at the University of Nicosia Medical School.
Dr Giannousi holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Crete, Greece, an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Surrey (UK) and a PhD from the Department of Medicine, University of Crete, Greece. She is also an accredited systemic psychotherapist by the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA).
Zoe Giannousi has worked for more than 15 years as a psychologist at Departments of Medical Oncology (University Hospital of Heraklion, Crete, Greece and Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre). Her main research interests cover the areas of psycho-oncology, more specifically psychological adaptation to cancer, illness representations of cancer patients and caregivers, dyadic regulation of cancer patients and their spouses, psychological adaptation and cancer outcomes such as cachexia and malnutrition, caregivers’ burden and geriatric patients.
