Starting on 1 February 2020, Assistant Professor Neophytos Karamanos will head the Master of Science in Health Services Administration programme.  Dr Karamanos comes to the Medical School with extensive experience. He obtained his BSc and MSc in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Washington University in the USA, his MBA from Henley Management College in UK and his PhD in professional studies (E-learning) from Middlesex University in the UK.

Dr Karamanos has extensive experience in teaching multiple courses at the University of Nicosia MBA program (e.g. Corporate Strategy, Corporate Change, Operations Management, Leadership and Innovation). He also has extensive industry management experience having worked in several posts such as General manager of JCC Payment Systems, IT Director of Laiki Bank and Project Manager at IBM.

Dr Karamanos has conducted academic research in the areas of e-learning and technological innovation adoption.

The Medical School’s MHSA, is accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CyQAA) It is a distance learning programme allowing either full-time or part-time study, thus making it ideal for both working professionals and new graduates.

The MHSA rigorously prepares students for a leadership position in healthcare, both locally and globally.  It can help to advance career opportunities in a multitude of healthcare organisations, including hospitals, government agencies, clinics, pharmaceutical companies, insurance firms, non-governmental organisations and biotechnology firms.
