Ioannis Tzanavaros, Clinical Professor at the University of Nicosia Medical School, has supervised the first edition of “Congenital Heart Diseases: Diagnosis to Treatment”. This book, written in the Greek language, is designed for health professionals, including cardiologists, paediatricians, cardiothoracic surgeons, nurses, and medical students. It also serves as an essential resource for patients and families seeking to understand congenital heart diseases comprehensively.

Prof Tzanavaros stated ‘The book offers a comprehensive exploration of congenital heart diseases, covering a wide range of topics. It aims to enrich the readers’ knowledge about the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of heart diseases and provide insights into the latest innovations in medical technology and surgical interventions, all while conveying clarity and empathy’.

MD 6-year student and contributor to the book, Alex Kamougeros shared,  ‘Participating in the research and writing process has galvanised my understanding and appreciation of the medical care required for congenital heart disease. This book fills a critical void for parents and healthcare professionals caring for children with congenital heart disease, serving as a reference point’.
