March 2024

Following the success of last year’s Family Medicine Conference, the Department of Primary Care and Population Health is organising the 2nd Family Medicine Conference in Cyprus. The Conference is taking place on Saturday, 20 April 2024, at the University of Nicosia, supported by the Cyprus Society of General Medicine, the Cyprus Association of Family/General Practitioners, and the Cyprus Society of Pathology.

The conference aims to engage all Personal Doctors (PD) in Cyprus to discuss a wide range of primary care conditions and will provide a multidisciplinary update and practical application of knowledge. Given the abundance of information today, providing high-quality care is challenging for PDs. The conference will address this by offering evidence-based management strategies for a wide range of conditions in primary care, thereby improving care services, and increasing both patient and PD satisfaction. Attendees will gain practical knowledge based on contemporary scientific data.

Keynote presentations addressing topics such as quality and job satisfaction, nutrition in early type-2 diabetes, antibiotic resistance, guidelines for asthma, heart failure, key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality care, testing and treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms in men, and management of sexually transmitted infections, will be part of the conference. Additionally, there will be two parallel workshops focusing on the secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease and practical musculoskeletal joint examination techniques.

Participants will receive 4 CME credits for attending the conference.
