Christodoulos Xinaris is a Professor at the University of Nicosia Medical School.

Dr Xinaris is the Head of the Laboratory of Organ Regeneration of the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research. He received training in several high-profile laboratories, focusing on the subjects of tissue engineering, stem cells, and their participation in regenerative processes. His research focuses on developing new methodologies for tissue and organ regeneration by using stem cells and modulating developmental processes.

Dr Xinaris has extensive network of collaborations with academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and research organizations in developing nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems, regenerative medicine applications, and disease modelling and drug testing platforms. He is member of the European Commission’s Expert panel and acts as a reviewer for a number of funding agencies (e.g. European Research Council, Agence nationale de la recherche, Medical Research Council and others), as well as for several academic journals. He has also served as scientific advisor in private institutions and companies, and in non-governmental organisations, and co-founded and directed a startup biotech company.

Dr Xinaris has authored and co-authored a number of articles, reviews, and books in the field of regenerative medicine, and delivered talks in various leading universities, and received several studentships and prizes throughout his career. In 2016 he was knighted by the President of the Italian Republic for his contribution to science and society.
