Ultrasound in undergraduate medical education has been gaining increasing popularity. A dozen of medical schools around the world have fully integrated ultrasound education in their curricula and many more are planning so in the near future.

Professor Dietrich will talk about the challenges of utilising ultrasound technology in medical education and how a course can enhance students understanding and awareness and help them with their future practice and career.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Prof. Dr. med. Christoph Frank Dietrich, MBA, is Head of the Medical Department at Hirslanden Clinic Beau Site, Salem and Permanence, Switzerland. He is Professor honoris causa at Zhengzhou University, China.

He specialized in internal medicine, gastroenterology (proctology), pneumology, hematology and oncology & palliative care medicine and geriatric medicine.

He served as President of the European Federation of Societies in Ultrasound Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB, 2013-2015) and WFUMB Treasurer 2022 – 2023. His academic career is focused on endoscopy and ultrasound.

He published more than 1100 scientific papers and book chapters and textbooks in German and English. Translations have been published in Spanish, Czech, Polish and Chinese.
