The Department of Primary Care and Population Health of the University of Nicosia Medical School, in collaboration with the Cyprus Epidemiology and Public Health Association, invite you to a panel discussion event titled “Politics, Policy and the Public’s Health’ which is organised during the European Public Health Week.

About the event:

Policy is defined as the law and regulations including both formal and informal rules. Policy process is highly political reflecting a mix of influences of both public and individual interests and rarely proceeding on the basis of rational or empirical evidence.  In this session experts and representatives from both the public and private sector will discuss the role of policy in promoting the public’s health in Cyprus, by presenting interesting case studies and examples of successful and unsuccessful approaches of policy advocacy.
