Sir David Haslam

Profile

Sir David Haslam is a Professor of General Practice at the University of Nicosia Medical School.

Professor Haslam holds an MB ChB from the University of Birmingham, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Physicians, and the Academy of Medical Educators.

His main interest is in leadership skills in Primary Care, in the use and abuse of Clinical Guidelines, and in the value of Generalism. He is a past President of the Royal College of GPs and the British Medical Association, and a past Chair of NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence). He is a Director of the Cyprus State Health Services Organisation.
