Profile

George D. Tsiotras is an Academic Associate at the University of Nicosia Medical School and Professor and Director of the Business Excellence Lab in the Business Administration Department, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece.

He served as Secretary General of the Region of Central Macedonia and as President of the Balkan and Black Sea Regions of Europe. He was elected twice Rector of the University of Macedonia. Furthermore, he has served the above University as Vice-rector of Academic Affairs and Personnel, as Chairman of the Department of Business Administration and as Chairman of the University Research Committee.

He has a Ph.D. in Operations Research from State University of New York (S.U.N.Y) at Stony Brook, a M.Sc. in Operations Research from Columbia University and a B.Sc. from the Mathematics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

George D. Tsiotras worked as Head of a Research Department at the AT&T Bell Laboratories; he has also taught in American Universities such as Iona College, Graduate School of Business, N.Y., S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook, Saint John’s University and Columbia University.

He has been scientific leader in a number of research projects, studies and training programs in subjects of Total Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Production Management and Operations Research. He is the author of seven books and has published more than 100 papers in international referred journals (with more than 1700 citations). During his carrier he received several distinctions and awards, and served at the Executive Board of Directors of Greek Companies.
