Michalis Iasonides is Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia Medical School.
Dr Iasonides holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Ioannina and a Doctor of Philisophy (PhD) degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has also been an active member of both the Professional Association of Private Paediatricians (Secretary position from 2005 – 2008) and the Paediatric Society of Cyprus (Secretary position from 2008 – 2012, President from 2012 – 2016). Currently, he is a member of the board of the Cyprus Medical Association.
His research interests include the identification of genetic and environmental factors related to childhood obesity, the extent to which antibiotics affect commensal intestinal flora, and the spectrum of mutations among Greek–Cypriots with Familial Mediterranean fever-related symptoms.
