Wolfram Kawohl is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Nicosia Medical School (Adjunct and Affiliated Medical Faculty).
Professor Kawohl graduated as a physician from the RWTH Aachen University and received the degree of a Medical Doctor (Dr. med.). He obtained his venia legendi (highest academic degree in Switzerland) from the University of Zurich. Prof. Kawohl is a board certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist and holds certificates in addiction medicine and insurance medicine. He is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Clienia Schloessli AG, a large private psychiatric hospital in the canton of Zurich (Switzerland) receiving students from the UNIC Medical School. Prof. Kawohl has edited and co-edited eight psychiatric textbooks and written 18 book chapters. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles, including in high-ranking journals such as “The Lancet Psychiatry”.
His research interests include psychiatric services research, vocational psychiatry, and neurobiological aspects of mental disorders.
