Several medical students had their posters accepted at local and European conferences:

Recent MBBS Graduates Victoria Mumford and Rahama John, together with Dr Antigoni Koukoulli and Dr Theodoros Potamitis, participated in the Royal College of Ophthalmology Meeting 2019 in Glasgow on 20-23 May 2019 with a poster presentation titled Atypically aggressive ACTH-secreting Pituitary Adenoma: Misdiagnosed as acute angle closure.  The picture shows Dr Victoria Mumford and Dr Theodoros Potamitis at the conference.

 

 

 

 

 


MD students Nada El Dakroury and Christos Bachtsetzis, along with Dr Dimitris Kanakis, Professor Aleksandar Jovanovic and Dr George Bachtsetzis, had their poster titled Current Trends in Preventing Breast Cancer accepted at the 16th St Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference held in Vienna on 20-23 March 2019. Six MBBS P-year students presented their e-poster titled Implementation of the 10 Group Classification of Caesarean Section in Tertiary Centre at the 4th Hellenic Congress of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists held in Athens, Greece in June 2019: Omar El Sayegh, Zara Abigail Toney, Basel Atwi, Mohammad Mortada, Mustafa Ksayer and Kristi Constantinou.


Sixteen MD and MBBS students competed this year for the Alistair Fielder Prize in Ophthalmology in the categories of presentations and posters at the Pantheo Annual Congress held in Limassol on 13-14 April 2019. The Alistair Fielder Prize for Presentation went to MD student Aline Derlagen, who presented Keep your eyes on the ball, whereas the Alistair Fielder Prize for Poster went to MD students Sonia Kafkalia and Agni Tsangarides for their poster Laser induced macular damage: a public health problem on the rise, and to MBBS students Suleiman Ayoub and Pik Kwan Lau for their poster Plaquenil Retinopathy.
