Last August Professor Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran received from the President of Sri Lanka the ‘Sri Lanka Ranjana’ award, the second highest Honour conferred on non-nationals for distinguished service of a highly meritorious nature to Sri Lanka in particular or to humanity in general. The award is a silver medal studded with six Sri Lankan gems with a moonstone symbol.
