The University of Nicosia Medical School offers the following programmes of study:

  • The St. George’s, University of London MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) 6 year undergraduate entry degree awarded by the University of Nicosia Medical School
  • A Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Family Medicine degree for physicians awarded by the University of Nicosia Medical School

Due to the continuous expansion of the Medical School, we are looking for a highly motivated faculty member with relevant academic qualifications and teaching experience in Clinical Microbiology.

The successful candidate will actively support the current programmes as well as the expansion needs of the Medical School and will be encouraged to pursue his/her own independent research programmes.

The University of Nicosia Medical School is seeking two well-qualified and motivated professionals to join our Online Learning team.

  1. E-learning Instructional Designer (Faculty Position)

 Due to the expansion of the Medical School’s online programmes, we are seeking a Faculty member with relevant academic qualifications and teaching experience in online pedagogical theory and practice (Any rank).

The successful candidate will have expertise in mentoring online educators to conceive, develop and create online courses underpinned by pedagogical principles to enhance learning in the Medical School’s online environment.  The successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue his/her own independent research programmes.

  1. E-learning Technician

The successful candidate will provide technical support and assistance to all Medical School online programmes, particularly the selection and use of appropriate software packages.

Requirements

  •  Relevant undergraduate degree
  • Wide technical knowledge and experience in the technical design and support of online teaching programmes
  • Sound technical knowledge of online interactive teaching software (e.g. Articulate)
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisation skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Attention to detail

The University of Nicosia Medical School, is currently in need of Simulated Patients, between the ages of 18-80, both female and male with a good command of English.

What will you do? You will enact specific roles of patients with different clinical problems (e.g. asthma, back ache, heart problems, etc.) and you will be trained to give direct feedback to medical students on their performance.

 

Selection Process:

Step 1:

Complete and submit your application form. The application form can be downloaded by clicking here.

Step 2:

After submitting your application form, your application will be reviewed and upon successful screening you will be invited to attend a 3-hour training session.

Step 3:

During the 3-hour training session you will learn how the clinical communication sessions are taught as well as how to give feedback to students. You will be given written patient scenarios and you will be observed performing the role and you will be evaluated based on your performance.

Step 4:

Upon successful completion of the training, you will be offered a Service Level Agreement with the University of Nicosia Medical School.

Step 5:

Once you join our team you will be invited to participate in different sessions throughout the Academic Year on an ad-hoc basis, based on our demands and your availability.
